The California School Boards Association recently recognized NMUSD as a Golden Bell Award winner for its Graduation Coach Program. With a graduation rate of more than 98 percent, the program has proven to be an exemplary model for other districts to emulate.

According to recently released 2022-23 standardized test data, NMUSD students continued to show growth in English, math and science scores.

In partnership with the Melinda Hoag Smith Center for Healthy Living and IKEA, NMUSD hosts a resource fair to connect you with community partners offering a variety of resources for school-aged children. 

Effective July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, children enrolled in NMUSD schools are eligible for free or reduced-price meals if the household income is less than or equal to the federal guidelines.

Summer is an important time for our Newport-Mesa community. Safety is always a driving priority. We are taking this opportunity to share some community safety messages.

Newport-Mesa Unified School District continually seeks to update and modernize school facilities by creating beautiful and purposeful learning spaces for students. Detailed here are some projects currently under construction, slated for construction, or in the planning process. 

The Maintenance and Operations team is responsible for maintaining district facilities and carrying out daily operations to provide a solid base for student success. During the summer of 2023, the team will completing a multitude of projects.

At its May 16 meeting, the NMUSD Board of Education recognized seven high school seniors who exemplify a pillar of leadership.
