Patient Care
Pathway Description
The Patient Care pathway combines academic and hands-on learning to inspire students to pursue a full range of career opportunities in the Health Science and Medical Technology industry sector with an emphasis on sports medicine and athletic training. Students learn medical terms and abbreviations, disease processes and common disorders, body systems, standard precautions, and ethical and legal responsibilities of a healthcare worker with an emphasis on sports and exercise-related injuries. Students will have the opportunity to earn an American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers Card (CPR) and practice skills using industry-standard equipment in the lab on the sports field.
