Graduation Requirements

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

  • ENGLISH - 4 years (40 Credits)
  • SCIENCE (Life Physical) - 2 years (20 Credits)
  • SOCIAL SCIENCE - 3 years (30 Credits)
  • MATH (Must pass Algebra) - 2 years (20 Credits)
  • PHYSICAL EDUCATION - 2 years (20 Credits)
  • FINE ARTS/FOREIGN LANGUAGE - 1 Year (10 Credits)
  • APPLIED SKILLS ( One semester of an extra math, science or select elective) - 1 Semester (5 Credits)
  • HEALTH - 1 Semester (5 Credits)
  • ELECTIVES - (80 Credits)

TOTAL REQUIRED GRADUATION CREDITS:  230 Credits

SENIOR PROJECT

All students are required to complete and pass a senior exit project and presentation in order fulfill graduation requirements.

COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

Students must serve a minimum of 40 hours of community service as a requirement for graduation from Newport-Mesa Unified School District.  It is recommended that students complete a minimum of 10 hours of community service each year.  Students may accumulate more than 10 hours per year.  Students are advised to complete the community service requirement prior to their senior year.  See you counselor and stop in the career center for more information.
