English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) meets four times a year.

The purpose of ELAC is to advise the principal and staff on programs and services to English Learners. ELAC assists parents in becoming informed about and comfortable with our district’s Master Plan for English Learners and their school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement. ELAC meetings are open to the public; all parents are encouraged to attend. Only ELAC elected representatives may vote on voting issues and elect (optional) officers.

ELAC representatives become familiar with and comment on the four training topics:

Development of the School Plan regarding English Learner programs

The development of the school’s Needs Assessment

The R-30 Language Census Report

Efforts to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance
